Quoting

A customer approaches us with 3D data, an idea, physical sample or even a napkin sketch. With the assistance of our skilled and experienced team, we help our customer develop a feasible and moldable concept. Professionals then work with you to identify process application options and which custom molded process best meets your needs. A formal quotation package is then created reflecting the successive cost and delivery time for pattern, tool and first article piece.

Pattern Construction

With a finely tuned idea our tooling departments create a master pattern, depending on which custom molded process is selected, in one of three ways:

Since molded pieces have a variable shrinkage value, patterns are constructed to incorporate suitable contraction allowances to ensure the finished parts are produced with dimensional accuracy. Once a pattern receives approval, only then is it allowed to proceed to tool construction.

Tool Construction

The molding process selected in the design and quoting phase will determine the most desirable tooling option. Tools are constructed in one of two ways:

During mold construction, it is important to consider locations for hardware, substrates, indexing pins or locators, pour plug and parting lines. Our skilled mold makers have more than 150 years’ experience creating tools resulting in efficient mold-ability and most aesthetically pleasing to our end user.

Post Construction

Once the selected tool is completed, it is transported to one of our custom molded process departments to begin prototyping. Prototyping the tool allows us to both zero in and calibrate our machines, or master our hand cast processes in order to define standardized criteria for creating the desired production part with superior quality. After tool prototyping and quality reviews are completed, the first article is sent to our end user for review and acceptance. Once approved, the production run is completed and all finished products receive QC inspection in line with our QC manual and defined criteria. The components are then packaged and the ordered is shipped for on-time delivery.
